Which products integrate old and new tech for better user experience?

Let me give you some simple examples:

Door knobs - They are really a modern invention. But, the metal “Brass” has many anti-bacterial properties. So in a simple turn of events, door knobs are usually made of brass in many countries (India is not one of them sadly). But brass is relatively cheaper so it works out well.

Glass - Google Glass, Apple Glass etc. Old technology is our regular prescription glasses. Integrating new technology into these lenses is the most modern and futuristic example

Yes Apple Glass does look more modern than Google Glass because they are both few years apart and the renders were also according to the years they were being developed.

Three

Cheques - An instrument used to transfer money from one’s hand to another without the need to physically carry cash. A simpler way during those times to transfer money from account to account as well. But, modern cheques are far from their original versions.

Today’s cheques have many features like Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR), Hologram, Multi-city readability and payable at par (without any charges for cross-branch deposit) etc.

Maps - A cartograph was the easiest way to get a bird’s eye view of a region. And today we need not emphasize the importance of Maps on our smartphones. There are so many integrations now but basically we took our maps digital.
